    1.The finished blanket without edging measures: Width + 2 cm x length + 2 cm For example: 80 cm x 120 cm Cut fabric to measure: 82 cm x 122 cm To make 8 cm deep edging: 18 cm x length or width + 19 cm For example: 2 pcs. 18 cm x (80 cm + 19 cm) 99 cm 2 pcs. 18 cm x (120 cm + 19 cm) 139 cm To make 5 cm deep edging: 12 cm x length or width + 13 cm For example: 2 pcs. 12 cm x (80 cm + 13 cm) 93 cm 2 pcs. 12 cm x (120 cm + 13 cm) 133 cm
  2. 2.For the blanket, cut a rectangular piece of fabric with the desired measurements. Cut 4 edging pieces with the desired measurements. Trim ends to a point (see template).
  3. 3.Sew the 4 edging pieces together at corners (1 cm seam allowance). Start and end 1 cm from edge. Mitre and press corners.
  4. 4.Fold and press one side of the edging 1 cm to the wrong side. Mark the centre of the edging and the centre of the blanket. Sew edging to the wrong side (1 cm seam allowance - NB: on the side that is not pressed). Align the centres at the marks. Press the seam towards the edging. Fold the edging around the seam. Pin together. Topstitch firmly from the right side. Align the centres at the marks.
