Sewing pattern: Bedspread DIY3049_image.jpg
By the way...! This bedspread is perfect for a double bed.

  1. 1.Finished measurements 215 cm x 215 cm. Cut squares, see fig. 1. The measurements given include 1 cm seam allowance. Tip: Write the number and letter of each square on a scrap of paper. Pin a scrap of paper to each fabric square. This will make it easier for you to sew the squares together correctly.
  2. 2.Sew the squares together (1 cm seam allowance). Press seams flat (press after sewing each seam). Sew the parts together to form larger parts, see fig. 2. Continue sewing until you have a patchwork piece that measures 215 cm x 215 cm, see fig. 3.
  3. 3.Cut 2 pieces of fabric for the backing (110 cm x 220 cm). Place right sides together and sew to form a rectangle (218 cm x 220 cm). Leave a 25 cm gap in the seam for turning.
  4. 4.Cut 1 piece of batting (215 cm x 215 cm).
  5. 5.Lay your patchwork piece on top of the batting. Sew all around the edge (0.5 cm seam allowance).
  6. 6.Lay the patchwork piece and the backing, together, right sides facing. Pin though all layers. Trim the backing so that it measures precisely the same as the patchwork piece. Sew these together (1 cm seam allowance).
  7. 7.Turn to the right side. Hand-stitch the gap to close.
