Learn how to tie shoelaces DIY8027_upcycle_shoe-image.jpg

  1. 1.Make sure you have all the materials you need. Cut a clean piece of card. We recycled a white cardboard box. Print the template. Cut it out.
  2. 2.Draw around the template on the cardboard. Cut it out. Trace the lines from the shoe. Lay the template over the cardboard and punch holes along the lines with a needle. Now draw lines using a marker pen. Use the holes as a guide. Hint: Draw lines of different thicknesses with different markers.
  3. 3.Prick holes for the laces using a knitting needle.
  4. 4.Mix the paint to the colour of your choice. You can also use one colour straight from the pot. Paint the shoe several times so that the paint covers well. When the paint is dry, you can draw on lines with a marker pen.
  5. 5.Cut a length of yarn or anorak cord about 140 cm long. Tape each end. Weave the cord like a shoelace into the shoe. Hint: If you wish, you can embroider running stitches around the edge of the shoe. Here we used Honest FRAYA.
