Pattern supplement: Make a jogging set with unique patchwork fabric DIY2008_image.jpg
By the way...! We used fat quarters, i.e. fabric pieces measuring 45 x 55 cm. Of course, you can make your patchwork in any fabric you like.

  1. 1.NB: If you wish to sew both anorak and trousers, you will need to make two pieces of patchwork. Cut squares (see fig. 1 Download PDF). The measurements given include 1 cm seam allowance.
  2. 2.Sew the rectangles together (1 cm seam allowance). Sew the parts together to form four larger parts (see fig. 2 Download PDF). Then sew these together to form one large piece of patchwork that measures 140 x 100 cm (see fig. 3 Download PDF).
  3. 3. Lay the patchwork fabric on top of the fleece fabric, wrong sides facing.
  4. 4.Pin your patchwork fabric to the fleece using regular pins or safety pins.
  5. 5.Lay the sewing pattern onto the fabric (see example in fig. 4 Download PDF). Pin on the pattern pieces and cut out.
  6. 6.Sew the patchwork and fleece together. Sew all around the edge (0.5 cm seam allowance). When you sew over a stitching line, stitch back and forth a couple of times to prevent the seam from fraying.
  7. 7.Make the anorak/trousers following the sewing instructions in the sewing pattern(s). TIP: If you wish to make a lightweight anorak /trousers, use cotton canvas instead of fleece for the backing.
