Punch needle face
- Print the template (see next page). Draw it up on the fabric with a marker pen. Thread yarn into your punch needle. Apply as shown on the pack. Tip: The marker lines dissolve in water.
- Place the fabric in the embroidery hoop. For a bold effect, alternate between working on the front and back and vary the length of the needle. We used FRAYA yarns.
- Make sure that you push the needle right to the bottom before gently withdrawing it again. Remove your work from the hoop. Cut the fabric to about 2 cm around the face. Brush glue on the back to secure the yarn and prevent the work from unravelling. Leave the glue to dry. Fold fabric 2 cm to the wrong side.
- Place the face precisely where you wish sew it.
- Sew it on by hand using FRAYA Shiny yarn (shown here on a jacket).
- Here the bottom edge is decorated with embroidery. Tip: Once the face is sewn on, we recommend that you wash the jacket by hand only.
