Tassel
- Place a section of yarn folded double (approx. 50 cm) on a cardboard strip to help assemble the tassel. Make a tassel by wrapping yarn around the cardboard strip (preferably wider than the desired length of the tassel – it can be shortened later).
- Assemble the tassel with a double knot.
- Cut the ends of the yarn to remove from the cardboard strip.
- Now finish the tassel. A method called the “whip knot” is used here. Cut a suitable piece of yarn – the one used here measures approx. 25 cm. Make a loop with a short and a long end. The short end must measure approx. 5 cm.
- Hold the tassel in one hand and position the loop as shown in the picture. Wrap the long end tightly around the tassel towards the loop as tightly as possible.
- When the whip knot is the right size, the end of the yarn is inserted through the loop. Pull the loop and pull the knot in under the whip knot.
- Pull firmly on both yarn ends to tighten the whip knot and trim the ends.
- The tassel is finished.
