1- Cut 1 piece of fabric measuring 66 x 112 cm = Back piece. Cut a corresponding piece in interfacing and iron it on the wrong side of the fabric for the back piece. Cut 6 pieces of fabric measuring 82 x 19.5 = Pockets Overlock/zig-zag all edges.
2- Back piece: Fold the bottom edge 3 cm to the wrong side, press and sew in place with a stitch 2.5 cm from the edge. Fold the sides 3 cm towards the wrong side, press and sew in place with a stitch 2.5 cm from the edge. Runner for the round stick: Fold the top edge 1 cm towards the wrong side and press. Then fold 4 cm towards the wrong side and sew in place with a stitch 3.8 cm from the edge.
3- Pocket: Fold the top edge 3.5 cm towards the wrong side and sew in place with a stitch 3 cm from the edge. Place pins in the top and bottom edges as shown in the illustration.
4- Fold the pocket after the pins as shown in the drawing and press. You have now made a dart on the pocket.
5- Place the first pocket piece at the bottom of the back piece right sides together. Place the raw edge of the pocket piece 3.5 cm from the bottom edge and 2 cm from the sides. Sew in place with a 1 cm seam allowance.
6- Fold the pocket piece up, sew the sides along the outer press fold with a 2-3 mm seam allowance. Sew a topstitch in the center of each dart to form 4 pockets.
7- Place the next pocket piece on the back piece. Place the raw edge of the pocket piece 2 cm above the top edge of the first pocket piece and 2 cm from the sides. Sew in place with a 1 cm seam allowance.
8- Fold the pocket piece up, sew the sides to the press fold with a 2-3 mm seam allowance. Sew a topstitch in the center of each dart to form 4 pockets. Sew on the last 4 pocket pieces as described in steps 7 and 8.
9- Push a wooden dowel into the drawstring.
10- Tie an anorak cord or similar to each end of the dowel.
