Knitted socks
– find inspiration here
There’s something special about knitting your own socks.
It’s cosy, practical and the perfect project – whether you’re a beginner or an experienced knitter.
Here you’ll find high-quality yarns for your sock-knitting project, free patterns for wonderfully warm socks and helpful tips to get you started.
Choose the right yarn for your knitted socks
When knitting socks, it’s important to choose a yarn that holds its shape and stands up to wear. Socks are used and washed often, especially wearing at the heel and toe. That’s why it’s a good idea to use a yarn reinforced with nylon or polyamide.
Double-pointed needles for your sock project
The right tools make all the difference. Here you’ll find high-quality double-pointed needles. Choose from various lengths depending on your project.
Tip: You don’t have to use traditional double-pointed needles to knit socks. You can also use a circular needle as long as it’s at least 80 cm long.
This lets you use the Magic Loop technique, where you divide the stitches into two equal parts and bend the cable to knit in the round. Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy – and a great way to avoid working with five needles at once.

Don’t skip the swatch (yes, even if it’s boring)
When knitting socks, it’s important they’re not too big or too small. You can save both yarn and time by making a swatch to check your gauge (number of stitches per 10 x 10 cm).
We’ve created a guide to swatching and gauge, so you can quickly see how to make and measure your knitting swatch.
