In the video, we guide you step by step and show how you can make four lace shawls from 70 cm of fabric (fits approximately a size XS – you can find your size in the chart below the video).
How to calculate fabric requirements for your scarf
We base our calculations on fabric that’s approximately 140 cm wide and allow about 10 cm for the knot – the same method we use in the video.
Bonus: When you fold the fabric diagonally from corner to corner, it forms a large triangle. Cutting along the fold gives you two triangular pieces – perfect for making two scarves: one for yourself and one extra.

Expert tip from our designer
Use fray stop as a clear adhesive to seal the lace fibres. This allows you to cut the lace exactly where it suits your design and preferred size – without worrying about fraying or loose threads.
