Your choice of fabric defines the look – and there are plenty of possibilities.
Both styles have a comfortable, loose fit that drapes beautifully around the body. They feature patch pockets and a classic full-length button fastening for a clean, timeless and functional look.
The Mandarin collar adds a modern twist while also making the jacket extra practical by keeping your neck warm on cooler days.
You can choose whether to make your style with or without a lining. You can also quilt the fabric yourself – allowing you to adapt it perfectly to your needs.
Fabric
Whether you sew both the jacket and the vest or just one of them, we have five favourite fabric choices – all in lovely medium-weight qualities.
Our first favourite is quilted fabric – either your own unique version that you quilt yourself or one of the beautiful pre-quilted options. Our next two favourites are soft: teddy, which creates a relaxed and cosy look, and faux fur, which gives a more exclusive yet still soft appearance. For an elegant look, we return to classic wool or jacquard with a beautiful surface texture.
Material consumption
The amount of fabric you need depends on whether you choose a fabric that requires lining, a pre-quilted fabric or decide to quilt the fabric yourself.
Bias binding is used along the edges of the armholes/sleeve edges. You can either buy ready-made bias binding or make your own from the fabric.

Fabric requirements have been calculated for fabric widths of both 105 cm and 135 cm.
When we calculate the material consumption, we always place the pattern parts so that they face the same way on the fabric to take into account pile direction, pattern reports, etc. Also remember that the recommended length depends on the width of the chosen fabric.
