1.

Sew narrow (0.5 cm) pleats with 1 cm between them. Stitch across the pleats at 5-6 cm intervals. At each line of stitching, lay the pleats flat to one side. Carefully press over the stitching and about 1.5 cm on each side of the stitching to ensure that the pleats are even.

2.

Sew narrow (0.5 cm) pleats with 1 cm between them. Sew the pleats to form a harlequin pattern. Hand-stitch at intervals of about 5 cm. Carefully press over the hand-stitching and about 1.5 cm on each side of the stitching to ensure that the pleats are even.

3.

It’s up to you to decide how much pleating to work on your cushion. For examples, check out our free patterns. Sew narrow (0.5 cm) pleats with 2 cm between them. Weave in ends at the start and end of the stitching.
